Comparing fractions of different wholes is an exercise under the 3rd grade (U.S.) Math Mission. This exercise explores fractions compared to possibly different beginning amounts.
Types of Problems
There is one type of problem in this exercise:
- Answer the word problem: This problem describes a situation that the user is to solve and answer. It is a multiple choice answer and deals with one quantity possibly being larger than another, or same sized, or not enough information to tell.
This exercise is medium to get accuracy badges because sometimes the problems with not enough information are rather subtle. Speed badges are hard because of the time needed to read the problem carefully.
- Fractions appear in every-day media to display information to consumers.
- Fractions are used in real life in many different ways, but they are most commonly used in the cooking, construction and science industries.
