|Exercise Name:||Equal parts of circles and rectangles|
|Math Missions:||Geometry Math Mission, 3rd grade (U.S.) Math Mission|
|Types of Problems:||1|
The Equal parts of circles and rectangles exercise appears under the Early math Math Mission and 3rd grade (U.S.) Math Mission. This exercise practices the ability to recognize congruent sub-shapes in pictures and starts to produce the idea of fractions as geometric objects.
Types of Problems
There is one type of problem in this exercise:
- Select the shape that is cut correctly: This problem has shape that is supposed to be cut into some number of equal pieces. The user is to select all options that cut the figure correctly.
This exercise is easy to attain accuracy badges but is medium difficulty to attain speed badges. The major hindrance to getting speed badges is the multiple select option and the fact that the pictures do not always fit on a screen easily and so it involves some shrinking or maneuvering to see all shapes.
- Be prepared to cut rectangles and circles. Also expect horizontal, vertical, and diagonal cuts.
- Research indicates cuts are only made into 2, 3 or 4 pieces.
- Pizzas are cut into equal parts for slices.
