Strategies[]

This exercise is easy to get accuracy badges because user can see the size of the bar and tell if it is the correct length or not. The speed badges are medium because clicking the button enough is sometimes tedious and needs a fast clicker.

  1. On these problems the denominators are the same. The recommended approach is to cut the bar into the numerator number of pieces (when written as an improper fraction if needed), and copy the numerator of the requested length many of times.
  2. Example, to change into , take the bar, cut it 17 times, paste it 11 times.

Real-life Applications[]

  1. Fractions, decimals, and percents are used in many sports such as basketball to determine how many field goals the player has made over how many they attempted.
  2. Fractions are used in real life in lots of different ways, but are commonly used in cooking, construction and science.
