Types of Problems
There is one type of problem in this exercise:
- Graph the point: This problems provides a Cartesian coordinate grid and a point. The user is asked to move the orange dot from the origin to the coordinates provided.
This exercise is easy to get accuracy badges because the only possibly sneaky part about graphing is keeping track of which direction to move first (right, then up). The speed badges are also easy because the manipulative is simple to maneuver.
- It seems a little easier if users go the larger coordinate value first, then count for the other coordinate.
- In graphing, the x-coordinate always comes before the y-coordinate (the letter x comes before y).
- Graphing can be used to measure stocks, insurance, and accounting.
