There is one type of problem in this exercise:

1. Round as specified: This problem gives you a number and asks you to round it to either the hundreds or the thousands (though it would be reasonable to round to the tens also). Users are intended to simply type the correct answer in the answer box.

Strategies

This exercise is easy to get accuracy badges because rounding is a fairly simple concept. speed badges should also be considered easy because it can be done very quickly, but be careful.

1. The problems can be rounded to either hundreds or thousands so don't fall into a trap of assuming it will always be one. It can be both.

Real-life Applications

1. Knowing how to count is essential for learning algebra and the higher maths, and counting is used for almost everything humans do.
2. When one shops, chances are they pay a sales tax. If the sales tax is $3\%$ and they buy something for $$36.30$, the sales tax is $$1.089$, which is rounded to $$1.09$.
