|Skip-count by 5s|
|Exercise Name:||Skip-count by 5s|
|Math Missions:||Early math Math Mission|
|Types of Problems:||2|
The first instance of the Skip-count by 5s exercise is under the Early math Math Mission. This exercise helps students to understand the patterns of the numbers that are five apart both forwards and backwards from a starting point.
Types of problems
There are two types of problems that show up in this exercise:
- Select those users will see: This problem begins from a certain number and asks students to select the numbers that they would see if they were to skip-count by fives from the given number.
- Fill in skip-count sequence: This problem has the student skip-count by five from a number sometimes forwards and sometimes backwards.
These problems seem easy to get accuracy badges but because of the multiple select and multiple fill-ins they are medium difficulty to get speed badges. Using the "tab" button can make these problems faster.
- When students skip count by 5, there are only two options for the ones digit. If they can figure out what they are it is easier to find the correct solutions on problem type one, and easier to check their answers on problem type two.
- Knowing how to count is essential for learning algebra and the higher maths, and counting is used for almost everything humans do.
