The Units exercise appears under the Pre-algebra Math Mission, Mathematics I Math Mission, Algebra I Math Mission and Mathematics II Math Mission. This exercise attempts to promote comfort with different types of units.
Types of Problems
There is one type of problem in this exercise:
- Convert correctly: This problem provides a situation where a conversion is necessary. The student is asked to find the correct value after all conversions have been correctly evaluated.
Strategies
This exercise is medium to get accuracy badges because of the multitude of conversions necessary. Even after knowing which might appear, the speed badges should still be considered medium at this point while the times are where they are.
- It seems that the problems repeat quickly, but research is tired, so cannot find the repetition patterns at this time.
- Basic knowledge of converting to different units is essential for this exercise.
Real-life Applications
- Units are used for many things such as cooking, placing new carpet, etc.
